Did you know that...

"A Food and Drug Administration study estimated that 14 percent of imported dinnerware contained unsafe levels of lead, which can cause brain damage, kidney failure, and hearing loss, especially in children.  American-made china produced after 1971 is generally safe, because of government regulations adopted then.  Most of the lead-bearing crockery that the FDA found came from Mexico, Italy, China, France,      Holland, and Spain.  Testing kits are available ­­ ask your local health department."
